How did she get behind the decks?

Blame it on the raves! A decade of dancing, festivals, love for the music, and a distinct lack of women on the decks led her to give DJing a shot. Thanks to some serendipitous festival afters, she got her shot and fell head over heels for the decks. But it's not just about the grooves. It's the connection, the community, and the friendships danced together by the music world that keeps her vibing and creating music.

What's her spirit animal?

She suspects she’d be a tribal jungle alien – weird, wild, and perfectly fitting for her unique sets.

Her musical style?

Dark, esoteric, funky, sexy – a heady mix of indie, psychedelic, and tribal influences. What’s her genre? She doesn’t need 'em! To JOSIE it's all about creating a mood-driven experience that takes you through a kaleidoscope of sounds & sensations.

Who's her ideal booth b*tch?

She’d rather not. JOSIE prefers to vibe with the whole crowd, and loves seeing her squad on the dancefloor shaking what their mamas gave em’.

What are her pre-gig rituals?

For JOSIE, it's all about connecting with the energy of the crowd. She practices grounding exercises, breathwork, meditation, and stretching to declutter her mind and open herself up to the crowd's vibes.

Weird requests on the decks?

Track requests aside — someone once asked for a charger… an Iphone charger to be specific. LMAO. ☠️

Who does she want to open for?

With so much respect for innovative artists, she's got a long list of names, including: Mita Gami, The Organism, Theus Mago, Âme, Jimi Jules, Jenia Tarsol, Elif, and Adam Ten.

What's on her rider?

She’s not picky. The key to her groovy heart is simple. Mezcal, fresh fruit and Flamin' Hot Cheetos. 

What does music mean to her?

Music is EVERYTHING. After teaching herself how to play the piano and viola she stumbled into own sound. It wasn't until she became an adult when she realized it wasn’t just a hobby — it was PARAMOUNT for her survival. She used it to escape the grind and stress of her intense corporate career.

Music is the constant thread woven throughout her life, from childhood to adulthood.  It’s gotten here through the worst of times, and the best. It’s illuminated her power and creativity in self-actualization. In short music is about expression and connection, to ourselves and each other.

What's the biggest headache of being a DJ?

Being a DJ isn’t always glamorous. Social media and admin work can be a headache. Plus, late-night gigs aren't ideal for someone who values their beauty sleep.

What excites her most about Lineup?

It’s ability to empower independent artists like herself, to make the business side of things a breeze and leave more time for what she loves; creating music.
